Dear RCMS Coyote Families,
I just wanted to take an opportunity to remind everyone about some school policies and make a few announcements.
First, please be sure to send your child with a mask every morning. We find ourselves providing masks for many students on a daily basis and this is unsustainable. Yes, we do have masks available for the occasional forgetful student, not for those who expect us to furnish one daily. Second, there is no adult supervision prior to 7:40 in the morning. We have some students dropped off as early as 7:00. Please understand that school personnel don’t arrive until 7:30 and students are alone before that time. Also, classes begin at 7:55 am and if a student accumulates three tardies they can be assigned an after school detention. We have been very patient with this process but timeliness is important for learning.
When dropping off your student or picking him/her up, please be sure to use the loop on the north side of the building accessible from Church Street. We have had several near accidents with buses as a result of people using Coyote Trail to drop off their students in the staff parking lot. This area is for staff only. This is becoming an increasingly hazardous situation and this area may now be patrolled by the Reed City Police Department. Please use the appropriate entrance for pick up and drop off of students.
Next week on Wednesday, March 24th we have a full day of school. This is different from what we have been doing in the past. Our half day next week is actually Thursday, March 25th and that kicks off our spring break. School resumes on Monday, April 4th.
We appreciate your support and wish you a restful break!
Thank you,
Dave Carlson RCMS Principal
